Vespasian, (A.D. 69-79), denarius, Illyricum mint, issued 69-70, 3.204 grams, obv. Vespasian head laureate to right, around IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG, rev. Genius of the Roman people standing to l., holding corn-ears and patera, around GENIVM P R, (S.-, RIC 307 [R2], C.200). Nearly very fine and very rare.

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 52 (lot 2265). The issue relates to the Genius of the Emperor and the Roman people in the successful conclusion of the war against the jews. A curious piece with the portrait similar to that of Galba.
