Nero Claudius Drusus, (Claudius's father) (died 9 B.C.), posthumous issue struck by Claudius, (A.D. 41-2), AE sestertius, (17.212 grams), obv. NERO CLAVDIVS DRVSVS GERMAN[ICVS IMP], Drusus head to left, rev. TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG P M TR P IMP S C, around, Cklaudius seated left on curule chair with arms around, (S.1896 [£200 F], RIC 93 (Claudius), BMC 157, C.8); Antonia (Claudius's mother), (died A.D. 37), issued under Claudius 41-2, AE dupondius, (9.508 grams), obv. ANTONIA AVGVSTA, around bust to right, rev. as for Drusus, Claudius veiled and togate standing left, S C across field, (S.1902 [£125 F], RIC 92 (Claudius), C.6, CBN 143). First very good, second with rough surfaces, otherwise fine, both rare. (2)
