Attica, Athens, (500-490/482 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.016 grams), obv. crude Archaic style head of Athena to right wearing Attic helmet with chevrons on crest support off the flan, rev. owl standing to right, head facing with broad neck, traces of olive twig and three leaves, to right, **[AQ]E, all in incuse square, (S.1842 [£1000], cf.Sv. Pl.3, [similar dies], cf.Seltman Group M, similar dies, SNG Cop. 15-18). Small flan and off centred as usual, grey attractive tone, very fine/good fine and very rare.
