Arabia (uncertain city), previously Cappadocia, Caesarea, Trajan, silver drachm, (98-117), (3.236 grams), issued 114-117, obv. laureate head of Trajan to right, around AYTOKP KAIC [NEP TPAIAN CE]B **GERM DAK*, rev. Arabia standing to front, holding branch and uncertain object, camel to left at feet, around **[DHMAR]C EX IZ UP]ATO* S, (S.-, SNG Cop. 205, BMC 62-64, Syd. 184-5, cf.Metcalf p.148). Fine - good fine and rare.

Ex Philip de Vicci Collection. The issue has been traditionally attributed to Caesarea in Cappadocia but recent scholarship by Metcalf on Tell Kalak site finds and Weder in SM 27 (1977) (p,.57-61) have reattributed this piece to an uncertain mint in Arabia.
