Caria, Carian Islands, Rhodes, (c.265-250 B.C. Ashton chronology), silver didrachm, (6.64 grams), obv. head of Helios three-quarter face to right with hair loose, rev. rose, with bud on right, P O below, to left a corn ear, above **ANTIPATROS*, (cf.S.5040, Ashton series 3, BMC 43 [p.234], SNG Cop.736, SNG Berry 1122, SNG Finland 503-4 [similar dies]). Dark tone, off centred on the obverse, otherwise nearly very fine and rare.

Ex Glendinings, London, December 14, 1988 (lot 189). Richard Ashton groups this unrayed head of Helios with a magistrate name to the date c.265-250 B.C. This small group contains seven magistrates with eight symbols (Revue Numismatique 1988 p.79).
