Description

Attica, Athens, (393-300 B.C., but c. 350-300 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.038 grams), obv. head of Athena to right wearing ivy crested helmet, eye in profile, rev. owl standing to right, head facing, in erect posture, olive twig and crescent behind, to right, **AQE, all in incuse square, (S.2537, BMC 144, Kraay (Coins of Ancient Athens) Pl. IV, 5, SNG Cop. 65). Short on flan as usual, nice grey tone, good very fine.
