THRACE, Serdica, Caracalla, (A.D. 198-217), AE 31, (20.04 g), obv. Caracalla bust to left draped and cuirassed, holding spear and shield, around AVT K M AVPH ANT**W*NEINOC, rev. Ares standing to left, holding reversed spear and shield at side, around OV**LPIA*C CEP**D*IKHC, (S.-, cf.Varbanov 2176). Attractive brown and dark green patina, good very fine and very rare, variety unlisted.
