MACEDON, Kingdom of, Philip III, (323-316 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.14 g), Abydus mint, issued c.323-317 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, corn-ear in left field, **FILIPPOU* to right, AP monogram under throne, (cf.S.6751, Price P24, BMC P24, M.P76). Toned, fine/nearly very fine and scarce.
