MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.1 grams), Babylon mint, issued 311-305 B..C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, MTP monogram in wreath to left, MI under throne, to right **ALEXANDROU, **BASILEWS in exergue, (cf.S.6713, Price 3746, BMC 3746, M.734, SNG Von Post 35 [This Coin]). Well centred, good very fine.
