ITALY, Calabria, Tarentum (Taras), (c.480-470 B.C.), silver stater, (7.52 grams), obv. Taras seated to left on dolphin holding cuttlefish, **TARAS* to right above, scallop shell below, obv. hippocamp to left, (cf.S.224, Vl.133, cf.SNG ANS 841/840 same dies]). Obverse porosity, nearly fine/good fine, and rare.
