VICTORIAN FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION, miniature gold football (39 x 19mm, 9.3gms), inscribed 'Victorian Football Assn / Best & Fairest Player / D.Fothergill / W.F.C. 1941'. Very fine.

Desmond Fothergill played with Collingwood 1937-40, 1945-7, 111 games, 325 goals, he won the Copeland Trophy in 1937, 1938 and 1940, tied for the Brownlow Medal in 1940. He crossed to Williamstown F.C., in 1941, returned to Collingwood in 1945, retiring in 1947 at the age of 28. Fothergill was also a fine batsman playing for the Victorian Cricket Team on twenty seven occassions.
