ROYAL QUEENSLAND YACHT CLUB, aluminium tokens, used either as canteen or more likely as gambling tokens c.1933-1939, for 10/-, 5/- (2 types), 2/- (2 types), 1/- (2 types), 9d and to nickel jetons stamped R.Q.Y.C. (2), all tokens have R.Q.Y.C. either on one side or both sides. (10)

The issue is subject of a forthcoming paper published by the Australian Numismatic Society by Trevor White, who states that tokens were mentioned in annual reports from 1933 - 1938 as token funds to the value of Å“13.9.9. He notes the comparisons of similar tokens used by the Royal Tasmanian Yacht Club for gambling purposes (presumably on poker machines). A copy of this article is included with the lot.
