LANARKSHIRE, Lanark Mills, four shillings and nine pence, a Charles IIII Mexico City Mint eight reales, 1797 countermarked as before except 4/9 replaces 2/6 and without the additional D countermark (Davis 84) Coin y countermarked nearly very fine, rare.

Ex Christie-Edmiston Sale 5 February 1981 (lot 50) and Walter Allen (lot 58) Collection. Eleven specimens known of this denomination.
