CHINA, Tang Dynasty, 'Kai Yuen Tung Pao', Emperor Kao Tsu (618-626), round gilt gold palace cash with square hole, four characters around, diameter 24mm, (3.8 grams), (cf.Sch. 313, TFP 672). Traces of old gilding apparent on the coin, otherwise very fine and very rare.
