MADRAS PRESIDENCY, in the name of Farrukhsiyar (A.H. 1124-1131, A.D. 1713-1719), silver rupee, impressed with the mint name Chinapatan and known as the 'Madras rupee', Regnal Year 3 (1714-1715), (Pr. 127, KM. -). Very fine with a very clear mint and date reading, very rare.

This very rare coin was struck in year 3 of Farrukhisyar. The ruler was not present in either the Pridmore or Pitchfork collections (N.N. Sale 48, but an example year 41 lot 1989 realised $240).
