NERO, (A.D. 54-68), AE sestertius, issued c.64, Rome mint, (30.8 grams), obv. laureate head to right of Nero, around NERO CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG GERM P M TR P IMP PP, rev. Nero on platform seated right on left, before him seated official, another handing congiarium to citizen etc., around CONG II DAT POP, S C in exergue, (S.-, RIC 101, WCN 72). Tiber patina, surface corrosion on the reverse, superb portrait in very high relief, otherwise good very fine/very fine and very rare.
