ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.400-350 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm, (7.6 grams), obv. head of female left, the hair bound by net, rev. corn ear, **[M]ETAP to left, stalk to right, ivy leaf above stalk, (cf.S.409, Noe [NN&M 47, 1984] 522, SNG ANS 389 [same dies]). Nearly very fine and rare.
