SEALED BONNET MOTOR CONTEST, 1907, badge with loop mount in gold and enamel with sapphire inset at centre (15ct, 9.9gms, 28mm), inscribed on rev. '--- Rand Esq. in Recognition of Services Rendered'. Very fine and rare.

Thomas Rand originally a pastoralist in the Riverina, where he owned Mahonga Station, he was one of the foundation members of the R.A.C.V. in 1903, was appointed to the Provisional Committee 1903-1904, elected Vice President 1904-1909, served on Council and various terms as Vice President 1910-1937, first Life Foundation member 31/3/1913, died August 1938. Together with some research.
