ANNE, copper medal, 1709, Capture of Mons, 40mm, rev. Victory flying left over city. (Eimer 440, M.I,ii 362/202); cast copy, silver farthing, 1713, (cf.P.747/737 mule, unlisted in P, from obv.4, rev.C). Extremely fine; fine. (2)
Peck notes the existence of many forgeries of Anne farthings 'mostly untooled casts from genuine pieces'. He further discusses the known examples struck from cast blanks as some of Newton's trials.
