PORT PHILLIP, Kangaroo Office pattern shilling in copper by W.J. Taylor, straight grain or milled edge (4.462 grams), 1.6mm thick. Brilliant copper proof with ring of mint red, virtually FDC, extremely rare.
Ex Spink Stern Auction Sale October 30, 1975 (lot 70) from S. Hagley Collection and J. Smith Collection. Probably no more than five struck with the actual number of off-metal copper strikes for these shillings probably only two surviving.
