BOLIVIA, Philip V, (1700-1746), cob eight reales, Potosi mint, 1728 (dated once), Assayer M, (25.1 grams), obv. arms of Leon and Castille, rev. two crowned pillars, 8 above, 728 below, P and M, (Cal. 771, KM.31). Some porosity on obverse, good surface on reverse, very good/nearly very fine and a scarce date.

Ex '1733 Plate Fleet' wrecks. The great treasure fleet of 1733 sailed from Havana Cuba in July 1733. It encountered a hurricane during the night of the 14th July and as the storm grew in strength and during the next day some 19 ships were driven onto the reefs all along the Florida Keys, from Kay Vaca to Key Largo, a distance of 130 kilometres.
