ELAGABALUS, (A.D. 218-222), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 220-222, (2.888 grams), obv. laureate bust of Elagabalus draped to right with horn over forehead, around IMP ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, rev. around INVICTVS SACERDOS AVG, Elagabalus standing half left, sacrificing over altar, holding a club, star to left, (S.2100, RIC 86 note, RSC 60). Slightly off centred on reverse, otherwise extremely fine, very scarce.
