CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), silver denarius, issued 215, Rome mint, (2.898 grams), obv. laureate head to right of Caracalla, around ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM, rev. Aesculapius standing facing, holding serpent-entwined wand, globe on ground, around P M TR P XVIII COS IIII, (S.1936, RIC 251, RSC 302). Large flan, well centred, nearly extremely fine/good very fine, scarce.
