SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 207, (2.726 grams), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around SEVERVS PIVS AVG, rev. around PM TR P XV COS III P P, Africa wearing elephant-skin head-dress, standing right, holding a basket of fruit with a lion at her feet, (S.1778, RIC 207, RSC 493). Nearly extremely fine and very scarce reverse.
