THRACE, Island of, Thasos, (after 148 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.88 grams), obv. head of young Dionysos to right, wreathed with ivy and band across forehead, rev. Herakles naked standing to left, holding club, lion skin over left arm, to right **HRAKLEOUS*, to left **SWTHROS, below **FASIWN, M to left, (cf.S.1759, SNG Cop. 1039). Weak in places on the portrait, otherwise good very fine/extremely fine.
