SICILY, Syracuse, Kingdom of, Pyrrhos, (278-276 B.C.), AE 21.5 (9.502 grams), obv. youthful head of Herakles to left in lion skin, to left traces of **SURAKOSIWN, rev. Athena Promachos advancing to right, brandishing spear and holding shield, to right an owl, (S.1213, BMC 498, SNG ANS 850). Even brown patina, good very fine, and very scarce.
