SOUTH AFRICA, Edward VIII, 1937 South Africa Pattern five shillings, struck in platinum, obv. EDWARDVS VIII D:G: REX IND IMP, portrait of Edward VIII similar to that of Thomas Humphrey Paget (1893-1974) design on the United Kingdom 1937 crown; the reverse design features the shield of South Africa and the legend SOUTH AFRICA : ZUID AFRIKA 5, obverse and reverse dies are previously unpublished, 38 mm, (44 grams approx). A plain edge proof, unique, FDC struck 'en medaille'.
