CYPRUS, Edward VIII, 1937 Cyprus Pattern 45 Piastres, struck in platinum, obv. EDWARDVS VIII D:G: REX IND IMP, portrait of Edward VIII similar to that of Thomas Humphrey Paget (1893-1974) design on the United Kingdom 1937 crown; the reverse design features two ornate lions passant and the legend MODEL 45 PIASTRES 1937, obverse and reverse dies are previously unpublished, 38 mm, (44 grams approx). A plain edge proof, unique, FDC struck 'en medaille'.
