CENTRAL AFRICA, Nyassa Company, 20 reis, 1894 H, in bronze, same legend both sides (see Sweeney p.189). Red and brown uncirculated and extremely rare.

Ex Heaton Mint, Birmingham, Collection and R.J.Ford (lot 404) Collection. 'In 1894 the Company of Nyassa was given a charter by the Lisbon Government to administer the Northern end of Mozambique, Nyassa and Cabo Delgado being the Northernmost provinces. No further issues were struck, dispite the fact that the charter remained in force until 1929' (P.D.Mitchell in the Ford Sale catalogue, footnote to lot 402).
