SARAWAK, James Brooke (1841- 1868) one keping in copper, issued in 1842 (Pr 30). Very fine and very rare.
Purchased from a private collection in Sydney in 1991. `The badger, or brock, is derived from the crest of the Brooke arms.`Brooke' is a pun on `broc', the Old English word for badger, hence the crest' (P.D.Mitchell in the Pridmore Collection Sale catalogue).
