NEWCASTLE (NORTHUMBERLAND) 1810, racing pass in silver (30mm) inscribed 'Sir H. Vane Tempest/Bart. M.P.' (D&W-; M.p.1860). Attractively toned, good extremey fine and very rare.

Purchased from Spink in 1975. Tempest was the owner of Hambletonian the winner of the legendary two horse race at Newmarket in 1799 with 3,000 guineas as the prize.
