JOHN PHILIP KEMBLE, in silver (40mm) by I. Warwick (D&W.139/299) edge inscribed 'Retired from the Stage 23rd June 1817.' Pierced for wear, nearly extremely fine and very rare.
Ex Christie, Manson & Woods Ltd, Sale 16 October 1979 (lot 383). This medal was worn by the Committee at the public dinner given to J.P. Kemble on his retirement from the stage.
