WALES, Glamorgan, Bonvilston, R.T. Samuel private token, twopenny size 1898 (Bell A1, this piece illustrated). Diesinker, R.J. Richardson, manufacturer Wright & Son, Edgware, London, struck in bronzed copper. Light brown toned, nearly FDC and very rare.
Ex R.C. Bell (lot 303) Collection. Richard Thomas Samuel (1831-1906) solicitor, ship-broker and coal company representative was the author of a long series of articles published between 1880 and 1889 in the Bazaar, Exchange and Mart under the title Provincial Copper Coins or Tokens of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries.
