MIDDLESEX, London, B. Nightingale, halfpenny size private token, 1843, by W.J. Taylor, struck as a silver proof. (Bell A3; D&W 50). Attractively toned, FDC and very rare, only 12 struck.

Purchased from Spink in 1973. Adapted by Taylor from Mathew Young's die, the cabinet depicted was the latter's.
