T. CARISIUS, (46 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.99 grams), obv. bust of Victory to right, rev. Victory in biga to right, T. CARISI in exergue, (S.-, Cr. 464/4, Syd. 986, B. Carisia 2 [£65]); another (3.09 grams), obv. head of the Aphrodisian Sibyl to right, back hair in sling, rev. T. CARISIVS before Sphinx, [III VIR] in exergue, (S.321A [£150], Cr.464/1, Syd.983, B. Carisia 10 [£50]). First coin, off centred on reverse, light tone, otherwise good very fine/very fine and rare, the second fine and very scarce. (2)

Ex Christie's London, auction sale 13 October 1992 (lot 630 part for first coin), Sotheby's London, 28 February 1979 (lot 53 part for second coin). 75 obverse dies calculated for the first coin type according to Crawford.
