L. MARCIUS PHILIPPUS, (c.56 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (4.08 grams), obv. Ancus Marcius head to right, [ANCVS] and lituus off flan, dotted border, rev. PHILIPPVS behind equestrian statue to right on an arcade of five arches, within A Q V A MAR, flower below horse, (S.301 [£90], Cr.425/1, Syd.919a, B.Marcia 29 [£60]). Off centred on obverse, attractive dark patina, very fine/nearly extremely fine.
