L. ROSCIUS FABATUS, (c.64 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.56 grams), obv. Juno Sospita head to right wearing goat's skin, symbol behind (224), L. ROSCI below, rev. female standing right feeding serpent erect before her, symbol behind, FABATI in exergue, (S.294 [£85], Cr.412/1, Syd.915, B.Roscia 3 [£40]); another (3.78 grams), different symbols 141, another (3.04 grams), different symbols 123. First with banker's marks, generally fine or better. (3) $$ Ex Christie's London, March 7, 1985 (lot 48 part for first coin, lot 44 part second coin) and third Glendining's c.1965.
