P. GALBA, (c.69 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.30 grams), obv. Vesta veiled head to right, S.C. behind, rev. knife, simpulum and ornamented axe, AED CVR in field, P.GALB in exergue, (S.-, Cr.406/1, Syd.838, B.Sulpicia 6 [£55]); another (3.73 grams), obv. similar, rev. AE to left, (Syd.839). Second with banker's marks stamped on both sides, second with porosity, otherwise fine and scarce. (2)

Ex Glendining's London, c.1965 for first coin; second Buckland Dix and Webb, October 6, 1993 (lot 104 part).
