LUCIUS AXIUS L.F. Naso, (c.71 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.41 grams), obv. Mars helmeted head to right, S C below chin, NASO below, III behind, rev. Diana in biga of stags to right, a dog below, and two more behind, III behind, L.AXSIVS L.F in exergue, (S.-, Cr.400/1a, Syd.794, B. Axia 1 [£200]). Slight edge damage, good very fine and very rare.

Ex. Duke of Northumberland Collection, Sotheby's London, November 4, 1982 (lot 322). Smyth III/10. Only 10 dies utilised for this type according to the dies known by Crawford.
