M. VOLTEIUS M.F., (c.78 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.85 grams), obv. bust of Attis or young Corybas to right, wearing laureate helmet, piercer behind, rev. Cybele seated in chariot to right drawn by two lions, **L[A]* above, M.VOLTEI. M.F. in exergue, (S.-, Cr.385/4, Syd.777, B. Volteia 4). Even grey patina, scrape on cheek, slightly off centred on the obverse, otherwise very fine and rare.

Ex. Dr. John Sawhill Collection and James Madison University Collection, Stack's New York, March 15, 1979 (lot 419 part). Only 68 obverse dies used on this type as calculated by Crawford.
