M. VOLTEIUS M.F., (c.78 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.56 grams), obv. head of Liber or Bacchus to right, wearing ivy wreath, rev. Ceres standing in chariot to right drawn by two serpents, control symbol behind, M.VOLTEI. M.F. in exergue, (S.-, Cr.385/3, Syd.776, B. Volteia 3); another similar, (3.75 grams), different symbol behind on reverse. Very fine, first weak in places, second has been gilded, both very scarce. (2)
