ANONYMOUS ISSUE Q, by L. Sulla, (c.81 B.C.), silver denarius, mint uncertain probably moving with Sulla, (3.59 grams), obv. Venus head to right, within dotted border, rev. Q below, double cornucopiae, dotted border, (S.-, Cr.375/2, Syd.755, B.Cornelia 33). Good fine, very rare.

Ex Glendinings, London, July 9, 1986 (lot 53 part). A total of less than 10 obverse dies has been calculated by Crawford for this type. A type that is very rare and has probable a strong association with Sulla, the double cornucopiae on the reverse is a symbol of fortuna.
