GARGILIUS, Ogulnius and Vergilius, (c.86 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.67 grams), obv. Jupiter (or Apollo Vejovis) head to right, with oak wreath, thunderbolt below, rev. Jupiter in quadriga to right, GAR below, OGVL.V[ER] in exergue, (S.-, Cr.350A/1a, Syd.721, B.Gargilia 1 [£180]). Patchy patination, otherwise fine and very rare.

Ex. Glendining's, London, October 5, 1987, (lot 214 part). Only 30 obverse dies calculated for all varieties according to Crawford.
