M. PORCIUS CATO, (89 B.C.), silver quinarius, Rome mint, (1.59 grams), obv. female bust to right, M.CATO behind, N below, rev. Victory seated right, holding patera, [V]ICTR[IX] in exergue, (S.262 [£65], Cr.343/2b, Syd.597, B.Porcia 7a); another plated M below, (1.84 grams), another plated (1.59 grams). Very fine for the first coin, plated example fine second with some corrosion, scarce. (3)
