M. AURELIUS SCAURUS, (c.118 B.C.), silver denarius, Narbo mint, (3.89 grams), obv. Roma, Phrygian helmeted head right, M AVRELI before, ROMA and [*] behind, rev. Bituitus in biga to right, SCAVRI ligated below, L.LIC.CN.DOM in exergue, (S.-, Cr.282/1, Syd.523). Even grey patina and bright reverse, light edge porosity, nearly extremely fine and scarce.

Ex. Dr. John Sawhill Collection and James Madison University Collection, Stack's New York, March 15, 1979 (lot 333 part). 85 obverse dies used on this coinage according to Crawford.
