Q. FABIUS MAXIMUS, (127 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.74 grams), obv. Roma helmeted head right, * below chin, ROMA behind, Q.MAX before, rev. cornucopiae upon thunderbolt, all within wreath, (S.216 [£85], Cr.265/1, Syd.478). Light surface grafitti, grey patina, otherwise good very fine and rare.

Ex. Duke of Northumberland Collection, Sotheby's London, November 4, 1982 (lot 253 part). Smyth VII/7. Only 17 obverse dies was used for this coinage according to Crawford.
