C. SERVILIUS M.F. Vatia, (127 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.89 grams), obv. Roma helmeted head right, * below chin, ROMA below head, lituus behind, rev. horseman with shield inscribed M, galloping left and piercing spear into another horseman before him, C.SERVEIL in exergue, (S.215 [£75], Cr.264/1, Syd.483). Gold and grey patina, good very fine and rare.

Ex. Duke of Northumberland Collection, Sotheby's London, November 4, 1982 (lot 253 part). Smyth XIV/31. Only 22 obverse dies was used for this coinage according to Crawford.
