AURELIUS RUFUS, (144 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.52 grams), obv. Roma helmeted head right, X behind, rev. Jupiter in quadriga to right, hurling thunderbolt, AV RVF monogram below, ROMA in exergue, (S.-, Cr.221/1, Syd.409). Some blue and grey patina, good very fine and rare.

Ex. Duke of Northumberland Collection, Sotheby's London, November 4, 1982 (lot 242 part). Smyth III/1. Only 24 obverse dies used for this coinage according to Crawford.
