MADRAS PRESIDENCY, British Style Coinage system, Gold quarter mohur or quarter ashrafi, issued 1819, struck at Madras mint, (2.904 grams), obv. EIC crest, a lion rapant, around ENGLISH EAST INDIA COMPANY, rev. in Persian 'Quarter ashrafi (quarter Mohur) of the Honourable English Company', (Pr.243, KM.419). Good very fine, rare.
