HADRIAN, (A.D. 117-138), AE dupondius or as, Rome mint, issued A.D. 134-138, (14.194 grams), obv. bare head of Hadrian to right, around HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, rev. AEGYPTOS around, S C in exergue, Egypt reclining to left, holding sistrum, resting left elbow on basket of fruit or corn, before ibis on a column, (S.1126 [£110], RIC 839, C.114). Attractive tone, nearly very fine and rare.
